Fukuoka Foreigner 0 Local Omakase Idenoue Branch (いでの上料理店)
The owner and staff did not speak Korean or English at all, so the young staff who spoke a little English helped me a lot 🥹
I am very satisfied with the taste, price, and service, so I am leaving a review.
Reasons for choosing Idenoue Branch
1. I wanted to try restaurants that locals go to and restaurants that Koreans do not know about
I looked at Tabelog (Japanese restaurant review site)
2. I chose a place that was easy to get to from Hakata Station where I was staying
It was near Akasaka Station, but the Tenjin-Akasaka area is a place where many tourists go shopping, so it was good for the route
3. I looked for a restaurant that offers a variety of menus for the reasonable price
If you look at domestic reviews of Fukuoka Omakase, only high-end restaurants come up ^^;
So I compared Tabelog ratings and prices directly to find a suitable restaurant (Tabelog)
For reference, a Tabelog rating of 3.x is considered good.
The shop itself is not that big
I remember it accommodating about 8~10 people
We sat in the middle of the bar.
The menu has 18 pieces. It's enough for one adult male, so you don't have to worry about the portions being too small! :>
The kaiseki-like menu has 6 pieces, and the sushi has 11 pieces. In addition, there are soups and green teas.
Since it's not an omakase that only serves sushi, I think Tabelog calls it a restaurant, not a sushi-ya.
I took pictures of the entire menu, but I can't remember exactly what kind of fish it is due to a communication barrier (ㅠㅠ)
But the owner kindly tried to explain it to me.
Liquor
As soon as I got in, it was so hot that I had a glass of beer.
I asked them to recommend sake that would go well with the meal, so I had the following two sakes.
I don't remember the exact price, but I remember it was around 2,000 yen per glass.
If you don't have much money, I recommend only one glass per person. :>
Kenkonichi Tokubetsu Junmai Karaguchi (720ml) 乾坤一 特別純米 辛口 720ml
It was less sour than Shichiyo.
It was slightly sweet and overall went well with other foods.
Shichiyo White Shichiyo White
It is said to be a local sake from Fukuoka. It was quite sour, so I only had one glass.
In Japan, if you ask for a pairing sake recommendation, it seems that they tend to recommend sour sake.
If you want to experience the complete isolation of a foreigner with local omakase, I recommend visiting. (You can have a delicious dinner if you have the courage..)
But please don't act like a no-show because you don't have a deposit!
